Behavior, Work Habits, & Classroom Economics: DCES One Rule: Your behavior should not cause a problem for you or anyone else. Work Habits/Conduct Grade: Students will begin each quarter with 100%. For each infraction (missing homework, behavior issue, etc.) 2 points will be deducted. At the end of the quarter, students will receive an "E" if they have 90-100%; "S" if they have 80-89%; "N" if they have 79-74%; or "U" if there score is below a 74%. A Behavior Report will come home each Friday in your child's Friday Folder. Please make sure to review and sign it. Your child should communicate this information with you daily.
Cardinal Cash- I will be using "Cardinal Cash" to implement economics!!
Students will be able to earn Cardinal Cash by doing the following: ~each student will have a monthly job in our classroom they are responsible for ~getting "caught" doing something extraordinary ~earning an "E" for the week in conduct/work habits ~earning 17.5 A.R. points per nine weeks with an 80% accurracy ~perfect attendance each month ~turning in HW consistently ~no tardies for the month ~being chosen "Cardinal of the Month" The more cash they earn, the more opportunity they have to spend or save their money!
Some examples of what to spend Cardinal Cash on: ~sit with a friend at the over flow table during lunch ~buy something from our treasure box ~help a teacher ~pay to bring in a soda to drink instead of a water bottle ~sit in teacher's chair ~sit at table with a friend for the day ~Use the Kindle Fire for the day (educational apps)
Fines or how to lose Cardinal Cash: ~incomplete or missing homework ~missing supplies ~messy desk ~inappropriate behaviors ~forgetting items they are responsible for (Example: lunchboxes and jackets left on playground)
